Canon, a world leader in imaging products and solutions for the digital home and office has re – entered the Kenyan market. In a bid to reposition itself in the local market, Canon has strengthened its ties with Office Technologies, giving it distribution, marketing and after sales service rights of Canon products and solutions in Kenya.
Welcoming the new development Office Technologies Managing Director, Basil Serrao noted that the arrangement would not only yield positive results but also prove mutually beneficial for the two companies. “The market is ripe for the picking and a brand of Canons calibre will be well received by photography and videography professionals and enthusiasts who want products with cutting-edge technology and user-friendly features with excellent after-sales customer support.”
Office Technologies under the stewardship of Mr Serrao has witnessed substantial growth since its inception in 2003, making it an ideal choice for Canon as an authorized distributor. Canon has recognised the business importance of East African markets and is investing in developing a strong sales organisation in these regions. There has never been a better time to re-enter the Kenyan market, said Naoshi Yamada, Deputy Managing Director, Canon Middle East, at the opening of the Canon Festival of Impressions on 3rd November, 2011.
The festival was held at The National Museum in Nairobi and had workshops by Kenya based Award winning wildlife photographers and Canon brand Ambassadors Jonathan and Angela Scott, as well as a Check and Clean Services and a display of the Canon products.
