RAMCO PRINTING: In KPMG Top 100 – 2008

In what can only be described as a triumph, Ramco Printing Works was recognized as one of the Top-100 Midsized companies, coming in at an impressive 57th out of over 500 competitors, 100 of whom were ranked.

The 2008 award ceremony, held in October, revealed a listing of firms from almost all sectors of the economy. What is exceptional was that Ramco Printing, a relative newcomer in a mature sector, was able to put in a strong showing despite the domination of technology and media companies, who are buoyed by large infrastructural investments in their industry.

Conceived as a way of identifying and showcasing business excellence, the prestigious Top-100 Award is a joint initiative by the Nation Media Group and KPMG, two prominent players in the media and financial service industries respectively. Firms that participate are judged on the basis of revenue growth, profit, returns to shareholders and cash generation.

But beyond these tangible measures, firms are also recognized for their HR policies and CSR activities plus the dynamism, identity and innovation they bring to the market. Further attention is given too to the entrepreneurship behind these companies, a key driver of job growth and value addition in the Kenyan economy.

For Ramco Printing, the ranking is a vote of business-confidence. With it, prospective clients and investors are assured of a steady, consistent, quality-conscious partner in the company. An entrepreneurial background, backed by a decade of solid growth, gives the company confidence that, in the coming years, this performance will be matched, if not exceeded.
